Johann Durand
Blue Flag International Director at Foundation for Environmental Education
Johann Durand is the International Blue Flag Director at the Foundation for Environmental Education. Born and raised in France, Johann is 35 years old and has been working for the Blue Flag International programme since October 2013. Johann has experience in working with local, national and international non-profit organisations dedicated to education to sustainable development, and sustainable tourism and believes education to be a vital tool for positive change. He oversees a network of over 50 countries flying the Blue Flag and is proud to count over 5,000 awarded sites (beaches, marinas and tourism boats) in the Blue Flag network working tirelessly towards more sustainable operations. Johann holds a BA in Communication Strategy and a master’s in political science. He resides in Copenhagen, Denmark.
