Martinho Fortunato

Martinho Fortunato is 49 years old. He is an Engineer with an MBA in General Management and a Post-graduation in Golf Course Management. He is a CMM (Certified Marina Manager) since May 2005, after he finished the Advanced Marina Management School.
He is CEO of Marlagos, SA the company owner of Marina de Lagos, in Algarve – Portugal (462 berth). Started as manager of the Marina in May 2000 and during these years he has managed the marina, the commercial area around the marina and the construction, opening and management of a 4* Hotel Development in the Marina (Marina Club Suite Hotel – 140 rooms, SPA and restaurant).
He was the CEO of Centro Náutico de Algés – The Lisbon Boatyard. Boatyard with 6 hectares in Lisbon city.
He was CFO and founder of the hotel management company Unlock Boutique Hotels.
He was also member of the Board of Directors of the Holding company (MSF- Tur.Im, SGPS). The MSF Group has other Tourism and Real Estate developments in Portugal and abroad.
He was the President of the Portuguese Marina and Ports Association (APPR) during 6 years, he is now Vice President. He is the Commodore of the Lagos Sailing Club.
He is also member of the board of IMCI (International Marine Certification Institute) and Chairman of the ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) Marina’s Group.
Martinho is an active sailor since he was 10 years old and his biggest achievement was to be world champion of the 420 class in 1996 has also been invited to speak on several tourism and nautical conferences and seminars around the world.
